The body becomes wise when the mind ceases to control it. Like a branch of bamboo, it retains its structure when relaxed and free from the critical observation of our emotions.
The body’s system is naturally elastic and dynamic. Just like the planet that is both solid and liquid, the body contains water and solid matter. When emotions are caught up in the body, they tend to solidify and thus destabilize the proportions of the body’s elements. Calm breathing aligns the spinal column and disentangles the muscles that wrap around nerves and cartilage. When we relax, we generously water the parts of our body that have become dry .
The lead is a reflex action. It is learned consciously and then left dormant in our unconscious.
The lead and its response are spontaneous, much like the dialogue of two people who share a common system of codes: one of language, gazes, gestures or bodies (in the case of dance). Both people are submerged in dionysian fashion in the same fountain, which is the music.
